Local's Guide to Bellingham

Did you know that Nuu-Muu HQ (affectionately known as the Muu-Q) is located the Pacific Norwest’s coolest town? AND that we host a great local race every fall? The Bellingham Bay Marathon happens annually the last Sunday of September (this year September 29th). You can participate in a full marathon, half marathon, 10K, 5K or full marathon relay!

Whether you're coming our way to run or just touring our town, here are some our favorite local spots for food, bevies, and more…

BREAKFAST

Old Town Café: classic breakfast options, friendly atmosphere, and good coffee. We love it!

Homeskillet: this quirky joint can only handle groups of 4 and fewer, but their breakfast skillets could feed an army of hungry runners. It’s tight, it’s loud, it’s colorful, and it’s yummy.

LUNCH/DINNER

Big Love Juice (two locations, Downtown and Fairhaven): excellent healthy food (think rich vegetarian bowls) and delicious smoothies. We always walk out of here feeling fresh and nourished.

Electric Beet Juice Company: more delicious healthy food and smoothies. Don’t miss the spring rolls or Chocolate Superhero smoothie.

Bounday Bay Brewery: Bellingham’s original brewhall and a classic B’ham experience. Sit outside on a nice day and enjoy!

Twin Sisters Brewery: the comfy, kid-friendly outdoor beer garden, artisan interior, and decent nosh makes this worth a stop, especially on a nice day.

Black Sheep: terrific tacos, decadent queso, and magnificient margaritas make this one heck of a happy, friendly, easy little lunch or dinner spot.

Saltine: a great option for the foodies with some of Bellingham’s best eats.

Deanna’s: a wonderful spot to carb load on classic Italian with homemade Gluten Free pasta options. Yum!

SWEETS/COFFEE/DRINKS

Iron Rooster Café: yummy coffee and even yummier sweet treats. Grab a snack and take it over to the Fairhaven Green or walk down the interurban trail to the boardwalk and enjoy in the sun.

Swim Club: creative cocktail menu and super cool (but casual) mid-century vibe.

Camber: coffee aficionados and milkshake lovers alike will find what they’re looking for here. Camber also has some great breakfast and lunch options.

Mallard’s: dishing up homemade ice cream in this town for, like, ever. Classic and creative flavors galore.

Pure Bliss: celebrate your PR with a decadent slice of cake and a glass of wine in our favorite desert spot. You deserve it.

Come visit Bellingham, run the race, and wear your favorite Nuu-Muu! As a sponsor of the race we’ll be hosting a free yoga night the Friday of race weekend or visit us at the race expo on Saturday September 28th and be entered to win a free Nuu!

Thanks for the list. But I just gotta ask, what about Punjabi Junction, Pho-Ly, Five Columns, or Best Chopsticks? They serve phenomenal food, better than most of the restaurants I see on lists like this for Bham! Yet, they get so little press…😥
